The Houston British Bazaar is celebrating 50 years in 2024. The event has grown from a small church hall to a large cafeteria area at Flour, Inc. to the new Shrine Center in Houston. Members prepare crafts and British favorite foods to sell to the public. Scottish Country Dancers and pipers are often part of the entertainment. A tearoom and pub are frequented for lunch at the event. Since 1974 the bazaar has raised more than $1 million for charity, the majority of which go to Mountbatten House. Though the event is held in Houston, members from around the State of Texas participate to help make the event a success. The 2024 bazaar will be held on December 7.
