The Mac Gregor Chester chapter in El Paso was formed by Patricia Mac Phail in October 1969. The membership grew very quickly and in 1972 (approximately) and the chapter was devided into two.
Mac Gregor Chester chapter was led by Pat and the Chester chapter was formed and leg by Emily Kimball. As membership demographics changed and we chose to consolidate into Mac Gregor Chester.
We now have eighteen members. We meet on the third Thursday of the month with meeting starting at 1pm. We usually advise members to arrive at 12.30pm to allow those members who wish to be able to order lunch.
Our most frequent meeting place have been at the Magic Bistro on the west side of town as most of our members live in that general area.
Our major charity is Mountbatten House and we also support local organizations such, animal support, Salvation Army, winter clothing drives, and the University of Texas at El Paso.
We are in the process of planning a combined King Charles birthday celebration and the 75th anniversary of DBE in Texas on June 8th.
